Arostegui Pamplona

Ubicado en pleno centro de Pamplona, Arostegui está considerado por muchos como uno de los restaurantes de referencia de la ciudad. El local se encuentra en un edificio antiguo distribuido en varios pisos, con una agradable terraza exterior que resulta muy atractiva visualmente, aunque probablemente su uso dependa bastante del clima pamplonés. Durante nuestra visita tuvimos la suerte de disfrutar de una mesa situada junto a la cocina y algo separada del resto del comedor de ese piso, lo que nos proporcionó un ambiente especialmente cómodo e íntimo. No obstante, algunas mesas del comedor están bastante próximas entre sí, lo que puede resultar algo incómodo teniendo en cuenta el constante paso del personal de sala y de otros clientes. En el piso superior también disponen de algún reservado, que puede ser una buena opción para reuniones o celebraciones más privadas. La propuesta gastronómica destaca por la calidad del producto y por unas raciones generosas. Se trata de una cocina casera y tradicional, con una carta convencional bien ejecutada y una carta de picoteo pensada especialmente para la terraza. Además, ofrecen numerosos platos fuera de carta, algo que suele ser buena señal y que indica el uso de producto fresco y de temporada. El trato del personal merece una mención especial: cercano, profesional y atento en todo momento. Es cierto que en algún momento fuimos testigos de algún reproche interno hacia el equipo que quizá habría sido preferible no escuchar desde la sala, pero más allá de ese detalle, el servicio con nosotros fue excelente y nos hicieron sentir muy bien atendidos durante toda la experiencia.

Located in the heart of Pamplona, Arostegui is considered by many to be one of the city’s standout restaurants. The restaurant occupies a historic multi-story building and features a very charming outdoor terrace. While the terrace is visually appealing, its usability may depend somewhat on Pamplona’s weather. During our visit we were fortunate to be seated at a table near the kitchen, slightly separated from the rest of the dining room on that floor, which provided a particularly comfortable and intimate setting. That said, some of the tables are placed quite close together, which could feel a bit tight considering the constant movement of staff carrying dishes and guests passing by. On the upper floor there are also private dining rooms available, which can be a good option for meetings or more private gatherings. The food stands out for the quality of the ingredients and the generally generous portions. The cuisine is traditional and homemade in style, with a conventional menu that is well executed, as well as a more casual selection of small plates designed especially for the terrace. In addition, they offer a number of off-menu dishes, which is usually a good sign and suggests the use of fresh, seasonal ingredients. The service deserves special mention: friendly, professional, and attentive throughout our visit. At one point we did overhear a reprimand directed at some members of the staff, which perhaps would have been better handled away from the dining room. Nevertheless, aside from that moment, the team treated us extremely well and made us feel very well looked after during the entire experience.
